By providing the majority of mechanical requirements in-house, including engineering, 3D-design, sheet metal, HVAC, refrigeration, and controls, we are a “ONE-STOP” shop for any project.

Purpose of Position:

A BIM Coordinator works with our in-house design teams and operations team to assist with the construction process of new projects in the Greater Vancouver Area.

Reporting Structure:

BIM Coordinator reports directly to the BIM Manager

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and plans
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers on projects
  • Determine the proper elements and scale for buildings
  • Review and comprehend the Project Scope based on Mechanical Specifications, Drawings, BIM Execution Plan, and contractual obligations.
  • Obtain, assess, and incorporate Approved Equipment Shop Drawings from Project Management. Complete the shop drawing checklist spreadsheet.
  • Attend trade coordination, design/fabrication, and site meetings for assigned projects.
  • Model domestic, hydronic, drainage, and fire protection piping using consultant models and drawings as guidance.
  • Plan and coordinate sleeving locations ahead of concrete pours.
  • Develop dimensioned drawings for each floor layout, including sleeving, equipment, piping, and access hatches, for site review and installation.
  • Create spool drawings for construction use
Experience, Education & Qualifications:
  • AScT certification is an asset
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, & Excel)
  • Advanced math and computer skills
  • Creativity and artistic ability
  • 3D/BIM 360/Revit experience in plumbing and HVAC modelling
  • Experience in Canning, Spooling, Piping Layout, Hangers
  • Site related plumbing and mechanical experience at field reviews.
  • Ability to deal with site related construction correspondence such as answering RFI’s and issuing of site instructions.
  • Development of energy modelling inputs, and strategies to the teams Energy Modeler or consultant.
  • Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud an asset
Skills & Proficiencies:
  • Attention to detail & accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal & communicational (written & verbal) skills
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision & in a team environment
  • Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • AutoCAD experience in plumbing and mechanical design.
  • Able to read Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical drawings.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines.
