Job Title: Intermediate/Senior BIM/CAD Coordinator

Job Summary:

TYLin is seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior BIM/CAD Coordinator to oversee and manage BIM/CAD processes for tie-in projects in accordance with client standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams, lead a team of BIM/CAD technicians, and contribute to the development of accurate 3D models of bridge components and 2D drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain BIM/CAD models, plans, and details for different types of bridge structures.
  • Manage BIM/CAD deliverables on bridge projects and assist project managers in preparing tender documents.
  • Contribute to the creation and placement of project-specific BIM execution plans (BEPs).
  • Ensure compliance with BIM/CAD standards, workflows, and best practices.
  • Perform QA/QC on BIM/CAD models, drawings, and details to ensure accuracy and compliance with design standards.
  • Coordinate collision detection and resolve model deviations using Navisworks and/or other software tools.
  • Develop and extend the company's expertise and skills in approved BIM/CAD applications.
  • Apply BIM/CAD expertise and skills to the development of detailed construction drawings.
  • Design structural details for bridge structures, including steel, prestressed concrete, and reinforced concrete bridges.
  • Have a good understanding of geometric road design versus bridge design.
  • Prepare as-built drawings.
  • Maintain electronic files and project archives.
  • Provide advice on BIM/CAD techniques and participate in the training of other BIM/CAD technicians.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advances in BIM/CAD technology for bridge construction.
  • Be willing to travel.
  • Coordinate and supervise work with production centers in different locations.
  • Other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a BIM/CAD coordinator on bridge projects and proven skills in creating project plans.
  • Preferably hold a degree in civil technology, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited college or institute.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of BIM360/AutoDesk Construction Cloud and how to publish, share, and use templates and set up projects is desirable.
  • Knowledge of other BIM/CAD-related software such as Dynamo, Sofistik, InfraWorks, Tekla, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, and MicroStation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Rhino 3D and Grasshopper and the ability to create 3D renderings of structures is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam, MS Office, and 3D imaging and imaging software is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the French language and the ability to prepare drawings in French is an asset. For the Montreal office, knowledge of French is required.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of BIM/CAD technicians.
  • Ability to develop BIM/CAD standards and models.

TYLin is committed to pay equity and offers a competitive salary range of $64,300-$116,400 annually.
