Senior Civil Engineer - Contract 12 Months

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team for a brownfield mining project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring contractors on-site, ensuring that all civil engineering aspects of the project are executed according to the highest standards, and adhering to project timelines and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise contractors' activities on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Work closely with the project manager, other engineers, and stakeholders to coordinate civil engineering activities and resolve any issues that arise during construction.
- Ensure all civil engineering work meets or exceeds the project’s quality standards, including reviewing and approving materials, methods, and workmanship.
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Track project progress against the schedule, identifying and addressing any potential delays or deviations from the project plan.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, including progress, risks, and any issues that require management attention.
- Liaise with contractors to ensure that all contractual obligations are met, and that any disputes or issues are resolved promptly.
- Ensure that all civil engineering activities comply with local, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Must have a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on mining projects.
- Strong understanding of brownfield project challenges and experience in managing the complexities of such projects.
- Proven experience in contractor management and site supervision.
- Excellent knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the mining industry.
