URBA Media is a Canadian media company bolstering a total of over 1,000,000+ Canadian followers across major cities. Our goal is to help Canadians make more of their city by showing off things to do, places to see & the latest viral clip that is just too funny to not want to share.
Role Description
This is a contract remote role for a Social Media Manager at URBA Inc. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for managing our Calgary URBA platform on Instagram amongst other potential social media accounts (either for clients or our accounts).
The role primarily revolves around curating & creating quality content for our channel that relates to our Calgary audience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in creating shareable & engaging social media content on Instagram & TikTok
- Understands what's hot (and what's not) in Calgary
- Addicted to watching social media reels
- Able to relate to Calgarians
- Must be incredibly organized and "on it"
- Able to produce quality original & relatable memes
- Able to use CapCut, ChatGPT/Meta AI & Canva
- Strong understanding of "what works" on social media vs "what doesn't"
- Knowledge of social media analytics and tools and how to apply those to make better content
- Knowledge of how to use pre-built Instagram tools like editing Reels, Scheduling content and more.
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Previous experience in social media (whether independently which we prefer, or for a company)
- Strong knowledge of local & global trends
- Adept in following URBA's clear brand guidelines & structure
- PLUS: Experience in Paid Advertising: Knowledge of running paid campaigns, including setting up ads, targeting audiences, and optimizing campaigns for results.
