Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for an HR Advisor in our Human Resources department, based out of our Toronto Head office remotely.


Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the individual in this role will be a strategic HR partner and will focus on driving, developing and providing day-to-day direction and support to the ongoing business operations of the company, and will contribute to ongoing business operations through the exceptional delivery of HR practices aligned with business objectives in a timely, discreet, and ethical manner.


A Human Resources Advisor thrives by creating exceptional internal customer experience for both employees and managers. Alongside senior management, the HR Advisor is responsible for directly contributing to the people strategy to continue enabling organizational growth.


HR Advisor responsibilities include:


  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of employment laws and best practices in employee relations to provide expert guidance across the organization.
  • Oversee company compensation and benefits programs, ensuring that the total rewards strategy is aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with management to implement HR strategies that align with business plans and objectives.
  • Support the organization’s goal of becoming a top employer by developing, improving, and maintaining HR processes that meet the needs of the business.
  • Ensure HR policies, processes, and programs are up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements, delivering timely updates when necessary.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing guidance to employees and managers on employee relations, total rewards, and company policies.
  • Work with other departments on continuous improvement initiatives that require HR expertise to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and/or contribute to the execution of various HR programs and practices, such as recruitment, training, metrics, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support efforts to enhance HR service delivery through the implementation and optimization of HR technologies, including the HRIS.
  • Actively contribute to discussions and initiatives that drive organizational growth and improvement.
  • Stay current on HR trends and maintain strong industry relationships with vendors, government agencies, and HR associations to ensure the company is aligned with best practices.

Specific Skill requirements:


  • 7+ year experience in a progressive HR advisor role with experience in total rewards (compensation, benefits), employee relations and compliance within a mid-sized or large organization
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, experience with compensation structures and salary benchmarking
  • Proven ability to align HR programs with business strategy, contributing to overall organizational success
  • Experience in partnering with leadership and management to execute HR strategies that support business goals
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and leveraging technology for HR service delivery
  • Strong data analysis skills, including using HR metrics to drive decision-making and improvements in total rewards programs
  • Experience managing or auditing HR compliance with legislation, compensation practices, and reporting requirements
  • University Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

La conseillère ou le conseiller RH devra mener à bien les tâches suivantes :


  • Utiliser une connaissance approfondie du droit du travail et des meilleures pratiques en matière de relations avec les employé.e.s pour fournir des conseils d’expert à l’ensemble de l’organisation.
  • Superviser les programmes de rémunération et d’avantages sociaux de l’entreprise, en veillant à ce que la stratégie de rémunération totale soit alignée sur les objectifs stratégiques de l’organisation.
  • Collaborer avec la direction pour mettre en œuvre des stratégies de RH qui s’alignent sur les plans et les objectifs de l’entreprise.
  • Soutenir l’objectif de l’organisation de devenir un employeur de premier plan en développant, en améliorant et en maintenant des processus RH qui répondent aux besoins de l’entreprise.
  • Veiller à ce que les politiques, processus et programmes en matière de RH soient à jour et conformes aux exigences légales, en fournissant des mises à jour en temps opportun si nécessaire.
  • Servir de conseillère ou de conseiller de confiance, en guidant les employé.e.s et les gestionnaires sur les relations avec les employés, la rémunération globale et les politiques de l’entreprise.
  • Travailler avec d’autres services sur des initiatives d’amélioration continue qui requièrent l’expertise des RH afin d’accroître l’efficacité.
  • Diriger ou contribuer à l’exécution de divers programmes et pratiques RH, comme le recrutement, la formation, les mesures, les audits et les initiatives de conformité.
  • Soutenir les efforts visant à améliorer la prestation de services en matière de ressources humaines par la mise en œuvre et l’optimisation des technologies afférentes, notamment le système d’information sur les ressources humaines.
  • Participer activement aux discussions et aux initiatives qui favorisent la croissance et l’amélioration de l’organisation.
  • Se tenir au courant des tendances en matière de ressources humaines et entretenir des relations solides avec les fournisseurs, les organismes gouvernementaux et les associations de ressources humaines afin de s’assurer que l’entreprise s’aligne sur les meilleures pratiques.

Formation, expérience et aptitudes nécessaires


  • Au moins sept ans d’expérience dans un rôle progressif de conseillère ou de conseiller en ressources humaines, avec une expérience en matière de rémunération globale (salaire, avantages sociaux), de relations avec les employés et de conformité au sein d’une organisation de taille moyenne ou grande.
  • Solide connaissance de la législation canadienne en matière d’emploi, expérience des structures de rémunération et de l’étalonnage des salaires.
  • Capacité avérée à aligner les programmes de ressources humaines sur la stratégie de l’entreprise, contribuant ainsi à la réussite globale de l’organisation.
  • Expérience en matière de partenariat avec les dirigeants et la direction pour mettre en œuvre des stratégies de ressources humaines qui soutiennent les objectifs de l’entreprise.
  • Maîtrise des systèmes SIRH et de l’utilisation de la technologie pour la prestation de services en matière de ressources humaines.
  • Solides compétences en matière d’analyse de données, notamment en ce qui concerne l’utilisation des indicateurs RH pour favoriser la prise de décision et l’amélioration des programmes de rémunération globale.
  • Expérience de la gestion ou de l’audit de la conformité des RH avec la législation, les pratiques de rémunération et les exigences en matière de rapports.
  • Diplôme universitaire en ressources humaines, en affaires ou dans un domaine connexe.
