Job Title: Director, PMO

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, PMO to lead our Platform Project Management Office. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of project management methodologies, processes, and standards that optimize efficiency, transparency, and alignment with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a robust project management framework that encompasses methodologies, processes, and standards that optimize efficiency, transparency, and alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of high-performing Program Managers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to maximize their individual and collective impact.
  • Partner closely with Platform PMO leadership, engineering, product, science, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Implement and continuously improve project management practices, leveraging data-driven insights and industry best practices to drive value delivery for our end-users.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project management knowledge base, including templates, tools, and best practices, to empower teams and ensure consistency across all projects.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project delivery, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain a robust system for tracking key project metrics, providing actionable insights and data-driven reporting to inform decision-making at all levels.
  • Foster a collaborative and transparent environment that encourages open communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across all project teams.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience leading a team of program/project managers in a highly technical, matrixed environment.
  • Proven track record of change management focused on building strong interdepartmental relationships and influencing people engagement and expectations management.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing project management methodologies within a complex matrixed agile organization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders at various levels across multiple functions, including C-suite executives.
  • Ability to make and recommend data-driven decisions and leverage project management, workflow, and analytics tools to create a data-driven culture.
  • Experience managing complex software-based projects with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, managing dependencies across many concurrent projects.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven startup environment.
Nice to Have:
  • A degree with an educational background or work experience in a life sciences-related discipline (particularly pharmaceutical R+D) or a technical field such as engineering or computer science.
  • Experience working with AI/ML teams, and in particular recent experience with Generative AI.
