Duration: 12 month

Location: Hybrid - Our teams work 2 consecutive assigned days from home, 2 consecutive assigned days from the office, and then a single day also in the office. Typically, the entire design team is in office Mon/Tues/Wed. Please note the work environment is subject to change. The team could move to more or less days in office as directed | Downtown, Toronto

Daily Responsibilities:


The Content Designer will join the Digital journey that supports both new-to-clients and existing clients in opening new accounts or acquiring new services through self-serve and advisor-assisted digital channels.


The Content Designer will support one or more delivery squads in designing, with their design partners, features that support the business objectives and strategic priorities of the journey.


These features are typically refinements or additions to client acquisition flows, and are intended to increase the likelihood that a new or existing client will complete the acquisition of a product or service.


The Content Designer will be responsible for:

• creating content for digital products as needed by their squad to support the delivery of complex client experiences – including but not limited to: accessibility content, form labeling, conversational text, explanatory text, hidden or alternative text, metadata, go-to-market content

• planning and estimating content design activities, in collaboration with their design team and squad partners where needed, potentially across multiple work streams

• managing lifecycle for all content deliverables, including governance, change management and sharing with partners (i.e. stakeholder review, translation, legal approvals, publishing, version control, etc.)

• liaising with internal Legal, Compliance and Regulatory teams to ensure all content satisfies governance requirements while still meeting clients’ needs

• managing end-to-end content translation process with external partners

• ensuring all content follows the principles and requirements of Accessibility and Inclusive Design, including a methodical application of metadata and hidden text to support assistive technologies

• participating in design critiques and evaluating design proposals for inclusivity

• facilitating design workshops and ideation sessions, and evaluating outcomes against business goals and objectives

• participating in design research planning, scoping and implementation – including co-creation of test scripts and prototypes, session facilitation, synthesis and analysis of results, etc.

• attending one-on-one, team and group meetings (e.g. manager touch points, Design Events, Chapter meetings)

Must-have Skills/Experiences and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:


•7 to 10 years of experience


Writing and delivering production-ready content for digital product, and managing the content lifecycle through all phases (ideation, review, stakeholder approval, translation, version control, repository management, etc.)

• Identifying the need for, and creating, complex communications and messaging related to underlying system activity, user comprehension and task completion, and effective conversation with users.

• Effectively collaborating with design team members on solving product design problems, and delivering robust, high-fidelity design files (including the ability to create or contribute to product design work in Figma)

• Working in an agile setting and a proven track record of working closely with product owners and developers


• A post-secondary education, ideally with a university degree or college diploma

• At least 4 years of writing experience at a creative agency or in-house creative team

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about the challenge at hand

• Proficiency in English

• A portfolio of work samples showcasing your copywriting work


Nice-to-have Skills/Experience and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:


• Usability testing, including involvement in the planning, moderation and analysis/summary of testing activities

• Creating Figma prototypes to review

• Facility in French

• A working knowledge of accessibility standards and methods to address them

• A knowledge of design and technology trends


Soft Skills:


Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to collaborate with other designers and cross-functional team members, ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships. Experience in facilitating workshops is a nice to have.


Interview Process

The first interview will be a video call over Webex for an hour with the hiring manager and 1-2 other people on the team. It will be conversational based where the candidate will present their portfolio and be asked a few questions. The candidate will also have the ability to ask questions and learn more about the team and role.
