Role Designation: Fully remote worker residing in Canada supporting work for Allstate Insurance Company in the United States.


Job Description:


The Senior Actuarial Analyst is accountable for supporting the achievements of ACG’s short and long term Mission, Vision and strategic objectives responsible for executing projects in support of pricing insurance business utilizing accepted actuarial and statistical standards, as well as methodologies and knowledge gained through on the job training. The Senior Actuarial Analyst applies advanced knowledge of a job area typically obtained through exams and work experience. They are able to work independently with general supervision and have the ability to review the work of junior analysts in actuarial analysis and research. They are able to interpret and communicate the results of the actuarial analysis to stakeholders across the organization. This includes accountability for developing, implementing and maintaining a performance plan with stratum appropriate deliverables, to deliver the highest level plan results and performance metrics.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare Rate Indications, have a sound knowledge of indication methods and underlying assumptions
  • Perform Product and Price review (e.g. identifying segmentation opportunities) including preparation of recommendations and proposals
  • Prepare required filing documents, maintain a respectful and position relationship with regulatory unit
  • Ability to perform as well as peer-review and challenge indications analysis performed by others (assumptions, changes from prior indications, key drivers of differences between Internal/Filing/At-Risk indications)
  • Become an expert of the actuarial databases, and be able to analyses its contents
  • Providing actuarial support to other areas (Finance, Underwriting, Reserving etc.)

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years of P&C experience (Pricing experience an asset)
  • Completion of CAS Exams Exam 5 an asset (ACAS preferably)
  • Strong understand of theory underlying the indication assumptions and method (trends, loss development, profit provision, expense)
  • Filing experience (preferably)
  • Able to communicate and present idea clearly
  • Strong teamwork skills
