The Opportunity:

Join our amazing client's team in Ontario as an ICI (Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial) Construction Estimator. This role offers the chance to play a vital role in their construction projects by providing accurate and competitive estimates. You'll be a key player in ensuring project success across a variety of ICI construction projects throughout the province.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Analyzing project specifications, drawings, and documentation to understand project scope and requirements, ensuring compliance with Ontario Building Code and regulations.
  • Conducting detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for various construction disciplines, considering local market conditions and labor rates.
  • Collaborating with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, to gather information and ensure accuracy of estimates.
  • Evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiating pricing and terms to achieve competitive project bids.
  • Utilizing estimating software and tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Preparing comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and project schedules, adhering to project timelines and bid submission requirements.
  • Participating in bid reviews and discussions with project teams to assess risks, opportunities, and strategies for successful project acquisition.
  • Staying informed of industry trends, market conditions, and changes in construction costs specific to Ontario.
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure alignment between estimating and project execution processes.
  • Providing ongoing support to project teams during pre-construction and post-bid phases, assisting with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the ICI construction sector, with a focus on Ontario projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code, regulations, and construction standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software/tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are an asset.
