Job Title: Senior Construction Estimator
Location: East Toronto
Our client, a well-established and respected general contractor and construction management firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that values teamwork, integrity, and quality work. The Ideal candidate for this role is a hard charger who can be client facing and willing to develop into a senior leadership role.
The role
In this position you will be focused on the pursuit of new projects in a wide array of sectors. Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and data center work. You will be part of a team with an excellent opportunity for growth. In this position estimating will be part of your day but you won’t be grinding out estimates every day you will be involved in developing projects and chasing new work.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, identify potential cost uncertainties, and provide risk analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects during the design and construction process.
- Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating for large-scale projects.
- Proficient in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
