Our Partner develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of cutting-edge rock drilling equipment for use in surface mining, exploration, construction, quarries, as well as water well, & oil and gas applications. With sales of more than $5.5 billion USD, and a global team of approximately 18,000 employees, their footprint in the market is both large and varied.
Based in Western Canada this critical role will be responsible to develop, expand and grow business prospects across all company product offerings (including digital solutions, drilling tools and attachments, underground & surface rock equipment, drilling services and exploration tools) with customers in the Canadian West. Working within a matrix organization, including with five (5) separate Business Line Managers, and in close cooperation with other company departments; you will have full responsibility for the region’s results including people management, sales, regional profitability, operational costs and customer satisfaction.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Regional Manager’s mission is to guide, facilitate, accelerate and grow business in a sustainable and responsible way in Western Canada. Tasked with managing a $180M CDN region, you will focus on business expansion, driven by client satisfaction, and team results, and will own the profit for the region. Working broadly across company divisions and product lines, you will collaborate with internal teams both in Canada and abroad, and partner with customers for success. Overseeing a well-established, high functioning team of 6 tenured employees –this position requires a strong business leader, with an eye for detail and a proven track record of building vision and strategy within the heavy equipment and mining/ construction space.
Responsibilities:
- Define and effectively manage the market situation, needs and trends within the region.
- Build an overall strategy (in close cooperation with the region Account & Service Managers) to reach Company goals
- Develop and implement an effective territory and sales strategy, in collaboration with the Business Line Managers and National Sales Manager
- Implement and maintain a process for periodical Territory Management and business follow-up.
- Facilitate the implementation of company marketing & distribution strategy.
- Communicate product and business-related information with all Business Line Managers, Product Managers and National Sales Manager.
- Take responsibility for Profit & Loss for the region.
- Ensure that orders received for the region (By working cooperatively with Head Office) will meet customer expectations, in terms of delivery, specifications and support.
- Provide coaching and support to the Account Managers and internal support groups (CSR and Service Department) in your region to achieve immediate and long-term goals.
- Promote team building between all divisions
- Build and maintain a relationship with Head Office, dedicated distributors (if any), and key customers throughout the region.
- Personally demonstrate clear and visible leadership throughout the organization as well as with customers.
- Travel as needed and extensively throughout the region.
- Adopt, implement and adhere to all our Epiroc Processes and Procedures
You Bring:
- 7 years+ of relevant industry experience Solid Technical Sales/ Marketing experience
- Experience managing cost and / or budgets,
- Experience in mining and construction applications.
- Direct sales or commercial experience
- Experience responding to major tenders including RFP’s, RFI’s and quotations (which are valued at millions of dollars).
Knowledge/ Education
- Undergraduate degree preferably in business, marketing or equivalent experience
- MBA or advanced degree an asset
Skills and Abilities:
- Customer and Sales orientated
- Good sales skills
- Experienced negotiation skills
- High level of business management skills
- Technical knowledge on all products within your region
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills
