Reporting to the President, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Fleming College is a key senior leader, providing strategic guidance, overseeing financial and accounting services, managing payroll, budgeting, audits, financial reporting, and procurement functions.


What You Will Do:

  • Be a strategic partner to the business. Lead all aspects of the budget cycle (development, analysis, monitoring, and reporting) for preliminary budget development, quarterly review, and semi-annual updates.
  • Transform, innovate and modernize financial processes including procurement and expense management.
  • Implement new financial modelling and reporting approaches.
  • Advise, support, and recommend solutions to the Fleming leadership and the Board of Governors, that will help shape the future of the College.
  • Ensure proactive service excellence to all departments, operations and locations.


What You bring:

  • CA/CPA Professional Accounting designation; in good standing in the CPA of Canada organization. Direct experience with GAAP standards.
  • 12 + years of strategic, progressive, and proactive leadership experience in finance and accounting.
  • A broad-based and senior leadership experience in a healthcare, education, or public sector institution, or similar, leading multiple divisions/departments.
  • Knowledge/experience with collective agreements.
  • Experience overseeing organizational financial management/ERP systems (PeopleSoft or similar).
  • Proficiency with computer technology (MS Office, Financial IT systems).
