Position Overview
Calian is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to assist our client with the facilitation of their project.
Responsibilities
- Sustainment Analysis Planning and Onboarding
- Analysis Options Analysis
- Analyzing and documenting the business requirements relating to the sustainment enterprise and delivering work products through the life cycle
- Consulting stakeholders (individually or by means of facilitating group sessions) to identify comprehensive business requirements. Documenting business requirements for all stakeholders
- Providing support in analyzing, evaluating, and controlling risks, especially related to requirements
- Assessing the organization's capacity/capability to undertake and successfully deliver an initiative or a change to the current sustainment enterprise.
- Reviewing the gap analysis completed by the EMT against the current business requirements and developing options to address those gaps. This options analysis activity will be an iterative process throughout the development of the SBCA.
- Managing the implementation of the sustainment enterprise improvement plan to identify, analyze, plan, track, and control organizational improvements on a continuous basis.
- Development of preferred Sustainment and Procurement Strategies
- Identifying opportunities for organizational improvement to the current sustainment enterprise.
- Assisting in the prioritization and assignment of those organizational improvements.
- Developing recommended strategies for the procurement of in-service support services and materiel
- Making recommendations and providing advice for improvements and assisting in developing solutions
- Processing problems into solutions or new opportunities/initiatives
- Preparing and presenting findings, status, and other relevant matters
- Collecting and analyzing information and presenting findings on complex issues, carrying out or coordinating research as required and preparing reports.
- Development of Final Option Analysis and Contracting Details
- Analyzing, advising on, and implementing chosen business processes, strategies and functions
- Advising on business decisions
- Preparing and advising on contract(s) structure and enforcement
- Recognizing market factors and adapting business decisions to the context of the organization's sector and industry
- Implementing and advising on risk mitigation measures.
- Development of transition plan
- Advising on a range of issues affecting the organization's ability to achieve recommendation identified in the Final Options Analysis Report
- Monitoring the sustainment enterprise implementation and advising of any deviations from the plan
- Implementing and advising on risk mitigation measures.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 36 months (3 years) of experience, within the last 84 months (7 years), working on a business case analysis. Sustainment business case analysis experience may be included in this experience.
- Must have a minimum of 18 months (1.5 years) of experience, within the last 60 months (5 years), working on Sustainment Business Case Analysis (SBCA) on Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) equipment
- Must have completed the following phases of the Sustainment Business Case Analysis process on CAF equipment: 1. Initiation of the Sustainment Business Case Analysis (Phase 1A); 2. Sustainment requirements analysis (Phase 1B); 3. Option analysis (Phase 2A); 4. Develop recommended option (Phase 2B)
- Must have experience working on SBCAs in one or more of the following Project and In-Service Support categories: 1. CAF Military Major Capital Acquisition Project with a value of $100M or less; 2. CAF Vehicle Major Capital Acquisition Project with a value of $100M or less; 3. CAF Military In-Service Support (ISS); 4. CAF Vehicle ISS; 5. CAF Military Major Capital Acquisition Project with a value of more than $100M; 6. CAF Vehicle Major Capital Acquisition Project with a value of more than $100M
- Must have a minimum of 12 months (1 year) of technical experience, working on or with an Equipment Management Team (EMT) to provide In-Service Support to CAF Military* equipment and/or CAF Vehicles
- Must have a minimum of 12 months (1 year) of experience performing the functions of an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specialist* on a CAF Major Capital Acquisition Project
- Must have obtained one or more of the following degrees and certifications: 1. Master of Business Administration (MBA); 2. Masters in Project Management (MPM); 3. Master in System or Reliability Engineering (MSE or MRE); 4. Project Management Professional (PMP); 5. Project Management Competency Development (PMCD); 6. Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Bac Eng); 7. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP); 8. Professional Engineers of Ontario P.Eng Certification (P.Eng)
Additional Requirements
- May be required to travel outside the National Capital Region
- Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level
