POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Operations Finance Controller, the Costing Analyst is primarily responsible for implementing, executing, and improving costing analysis and internal controls for the Toronto facility. Responsibilities include maintaining Inventory Master records, measuring departmental performance, reporting variances, making recommendations to the Operations Leadership Team, and supporting Operations Controller in maintaining internal controls.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Standard Costing
- Add standard costs and affiliated records for new raw materials, molded and printed inventory items
- Develop routings to allocate labor and overhead costs to inventory items
- Ensure accurate costing of purchased items
- Revalue actual inventory costs monthly based on resin pricing
- Maintain and update cost sets for budgets and forecasts
- Weekly reporting of Flash results, customer volumes, labor, and overhead spending
- Prepare various reports like scrap and variance reports
- Participate in Month-end financial close and audits
- Analyze material, freight, pallet, labor, and overhead variances
- Budgeting
- Assist with financial budget preparation and quarterly ts for Material costs and Department Overhead expenses
- Internal Controls
- Administration of Bill of Material, Routings, and Costed BOMs
- Administration of daily cycle count adjustments
- Lead annual physical inventory and CI projects
- Promote a continuous improvement culture
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum Experience/Field: 2 to 3 years accounting/finance experience with a strong understanding of accounting theory and transactions
- Computer Skills: Experience with large ERP/MRP systems, good PC skills, and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Communication Skills: Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
