About the Role
  • The Director of Human Resources is accountable for the overall provision of Human Resources related services, programs and policies for the overall company. They are responsible for developing HR strategies and practices that support our employee-oriented culture and strong values. Specific areas of accountability include talent management and development, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, labour relations, compensation, pension and benefits management.
  • This position will also ensure compliance throughout the Corporation with all government legislation and regulations affecting employment. This included employment standards, health and safety, WSIB, human rights, privacy, AODA and pay equity as well as ensuring internal policies are up to date with legislative requirements.
  • The Director of Human Resources will lead and develop the HR team, ensuring cross-functionality and specialization to deliver HR services effectively.
Experience
  • Degree from a recognized university with specialization in a field relevant to the position; CHRP designation preferred.
  • 10+ years of recent and significant experience in Human Resources management positions with strategic alignment of HR initiatives to corporate goals. Aware of the most recent innovations and trends in the HR industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment legislation, including ESA, OLRA, OHSA, WSIB, HR Code, pay equity, privacy legislation etc.
  • Experience in leading and motivating a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
  • Able to establish strong collaborative relationships with managers and employees, providing advice and recommendations to all levels of management on tactical and strategic HR issues in support of business requirements, promoting innovation and guiding change.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. HRMS experience and strong technical skills are a must.
  • Experience working with multiple site operations is an asset.
