Job Description

FLINT is seeking a dedicated and experienced Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician to join our dynamic team at FLINT's state-of-the-art pulp mill. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the instrumentation and control systems critical to our facility's safe and efficient operation.

This temporary maintenance role will be stationed at our client's site in Hinton, AB, and is set to run from September 2nd through November 30th. Seize the opportunity to join FLINT's dynamic team and embark on a thrilling career adventure with us

What would you be doing?

  • Installation, Calibration, and Configuration of instrumentation devices and control systems according to industry standards.
  • Conducting Maintenance, Repairs, and Troubleshooting of instrumentation equipment to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participating in System Upgrades and Modifications to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensuring Compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Collaborating with various departments to support plant operations and provide technical expertise.

Does this sound like you?

  • Have a Journeyperson or Instrumentation Certificate.
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing instrumentation systems in an industrial environment, preferably in a pulp mill or similar facility.
  • Valid safety tickets (CSTS-20, Standard First Aid)
  • Additional certifications (H2S Alive, AWP, Fall Protection) as assets.
  • Have high regard for personal safety and the safety of company assets and employees.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
  • Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing and lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.

This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position and will require completion of a drug and alcohol testing.
