About the Role

Mondi Group is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Hinton, Alberta. As a key player in our continuous improvement effort, you will be responsible for implementing predictive and preventative maintenance strategies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our pulp mill.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to creating a safe work environment through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Perform preventative maintenance on control system components, instrumentation, and valves to minimize downtime and optimize performance
  • Analyze process variations and anomalies, and collaborate with operations to develop effective solutions
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and install a wide range of instrumentation, control, and analyzer systems
  • Install new instrumentation and electrical equipment throughout the facility to support plant operations
  • Participate in on-call rotation and shift coverage to ensure seamless plant operations
Requirements
  • Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge and aptitude
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in DeltaV DCS and PLC systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently using available resources
  • A desire to progress, learn, grow, and succeed
  • A valid Instrumentation certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal certification
  • Two years of experience in an operating industrial environment
