As a new Recreation Supervisor, you will:

  • Hold a diploma or degree in recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Work every other weekend and rotational on-call as needed
  • Have experience leading and supporting a team with hands-on training, coaching, and supervision
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members

It would be an ASSET but not required for you to have the following:

  • Experience with shift scheduling, department spending, and budget
  • Skills in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
  • Experience facilitating group activities and programs
  • Experience auditing and evaluating documentation capturing residents’ participation, engagement, and holistic wellbeing to identify where programming can be improved
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and deliver the highest quality of customer service
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques, and opportunities to improve residents’ well-being
