Project Leader/ Chef de Projets - Product Development (see below for French)

Introduction
As part of the Technical Group, the Project Leader collaborates with all internal departments and performs a range of technical and management duties as required. The Project Leader position focuses on managing both the technical and project management aspects of a product's life cycle, from development to evolution and ongoing support. This role is crucial in ensuring that products meet the needs of the supermarket and warehouse club industry. The Project Leader reports directly to the Product Development Supervisor, aligning their work with the company's commitment to providing responsive and reliable solutions. The organization emphasizes active communication, cooperative teamwork, and continuous improvement, values that are integral to this role.
Responsibilities
- Direct, manage and support other resources assigned to all tasks related to the product development or continuous improvement projects
- Plan, maintain and communicate project timelines and changes
- Contribute to technical design, development and improvements to all products within the Organization
- Review and approve mechanical drawings and electrical schematics related to the project
- Perform and document testing activities to support product development and continuous improvement projects
- Participate in assembling prototype and/or installing parts on existing equipment (mechanic, electric and/or electronic)
- Maintain current understanding of the product and provide technical support to all internal departments
- Manage engineering changes to assigned products
- Participate in Quality and Continuous Improvement Reviews, support initiatives and actions as required.
Requirements
- Holds a Bachelor of Engineering or College technical diploma in mechanical or electrical
- Has minimum 5 years of engineering project management experience leading a project team more specifically in product development and continuous improvement projects
- Has minimum 8 years of manufacturing or mechanical engineering experience
- Demonstrates an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. (We would expect the candidate to get familiarized with the system and troubleshoot with minimal guidance)
- Has exceptional communication abilities and well-developed professional verbal and written skills in English and French
- Must demonstrate leadership and planning skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, MS Project)
- Must be highly energetic and result oriented
- Knowledge of Spanish would be an asset
- Possess technical software knowledge (CAD – Computer Aided Design or CAE – Computer Aided Engineering, such as stress analysis or deformation analysis on a given part or assembly) is an asset
- Programming skills would be an asset
- Knowledge of certification standards and processes such as UL (Underwriters Laboratory), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) would be an asset.

Le Chef de Projets est un membre du Groupe Technique et effectue les tâches techniques et de gestion qui lui sont assignées. Le Chef de Projets relève du Superviseur, Développement de produits
Responsabilités
- Diriger, gérer et soutenir les ressources assignées aux tâches liées au développement de produits ou aux projets d'amélioration continue
- Planifier, maintenir et communiquer les délais et les modifications du projet
- Contribuer à la conception technique, au développement et à l'amélioration de tous les produits au sein de l'organisation
- Réviser et approuver les dessins mécaniques et les schémas électriques liés au projet
- Effectuer et documenter les activités de test pour soutenir le développement des produits et les projets d'amélioration continue
- Participer au montage de prototypes et/ou l'installation de pièces d'équipement existant (mécanique, électrique et/ou électronique)
- Apprendre et maintenir la connaissance des produits et fournir l’appui technique à tous les services internes
- Gérer les modifications d’ingénierie pour les produits assignés
- Participer aux rencontres de revues de la qualité et de l'amélioration continue et supporter les initiatives et les actions lorsque requis.
Qualifications requises:
- Détient un baccalauréat en génie ou un diplôme collégial - technique (spécialisé en mécanique ou
- électrique)
- Doit avoir un minimum de 5 ans d'expérience en gestion de projets d’ingénierie et diriger une équipe de projet; plus spécifiquement dans les projets de développement de produits et d’amélioration continue
- Doit avoir un minimum de 8 ans d'expérience en fabrication ou en ingénierie mécanique
- Avoir une compréhension des systèmes électriques et mécaniques. (Nous attendons du candidat qu’il/elle se familiarise avec le système et résout les problèmes techniques avec un minimum de supervision)
- Possède des habiletés exceptionnelles en communication (orales et à l’écrit). Bilinguisme requis.
- Doit faire preuve de leadership et de planification
- Excellentes connaissances de Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, MS Project)
- Doit être très énergique et orienté vers les résultats
- Connaissance de l'Espagnol serait un atout
- Connaissance des logiciels techniques (CAO - Conception et fabrication Assistées par Ordinateur ou IAO – Ingénierie Assistée par Ordinateur, telles que l'analyse du stress ou l'analyse de déformation sur une pièce ou un assemblage donné) constitue un atout
- Avoir des compétences en programmation constituent un atout
- Connaissances des normes et processus de certification tels que UL (Underwriters Laboratory), CSA (Association Canadienne de Normalisation), la NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) constituent un atout.
