The duties of the position include:

The Change Management Specialist works with project teams, business areas, and leadership to create strategies, map, and develop content to analyze and execute significant change initiatives effectively. This role needs to understand all aspects of the change and may include engagement/consultation, analysis, identification of risks, and developing various options to successfully transition target stakeholders from identified current states to a future state.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide strategic support to the Child Intervention Business Support Unit and Program Information, Evaluation and Performance Branch;
  • Ensure that appropriate change management strategies and recommendations are developed for all priority initiatives as defined by the ministry;
  • Create maps, presentations, and content to effectively analyze and execute change initiatives from start to finish;
  • Collaborate with the business area to develop project schedule plans and strategies, estimate resource requirements, develop, and monitor work plans for completion of change management work for multiple projects;
  • Collaborate with project sponsors, project teams, key stakeholders, vendors, and cross-ministry teams to conduct various change management activities;
  • Contribute to risk and issues management identification and response strategies;
  • Engage and assess key stakeholders. Develop a stakeholder analysis;
  • Conduct change impact and change readiness analyses;
  • Oversee implementation of the change management strategies;
  • Oversee business analysts and assist project teams with the development and execution of change management strategies and plans that include communication strategies, schedules, training plans and training materials or delivery of training may be required.
  • Regularly collaborate with, and report/present to, project leads and senior leadership on the status and progress of the change plan, as well as identify issues, risks, opportunities, and barriers relating to change management functions.
  • Communicate timely and appropriate information to all stakeholders and audiences throughout the duration of the projects. This may include planning and facilitating meetings with various levels of leadership.
  • Develop key performance indicators to measure the success of the change. Initiate or perform baseline measures and monitor change progress.


Requirements

  • Experience developing and delivering communications and presentations at multiple levels of an organization. (eg. Executive Management, Management, Program Sponsors, Steering Committee, Branch Managers, End Users)
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials including documentation, computer-based training modules, and training videos.
  • Experience developing change management deliverables including Change Strategy and Plans, Training Strategy and Plans, Stakeholder Impact Assessments, and Communication Strategy and Plans.
  • Experience in a change management role - applying change management principles, methodologies, and tools for implementing change programs
  • Experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels.


Certification required

  • PROSCI or CCMP certification
