Join a fast-growing family owned and operated bakery as a Production Manager to join their team in Toronto, ON. Conveniently located south of the 401 off the 404.

The Production Manager is essential for overseeing daily operations at the wholesale bakery, including managing production schedules, packaging processes, and ensuring facility safety and cleanliness. We seek a proactive, hands-on leader with a solution-oriented mindset, skilled in optimizing workflows and reducing waste.


Production Manager Details


  • Monday thru Friday (8-hour shift with flexibility for overtime*)
  • Compensation: $75,000K *based on experience
  • Up to 3 weeks vacation*
  • Benefits after 90 days
  • Bonus plan available*


Production Manager Responsibilities


  • · Direct the daily functions of the wholesale bakery.
  • · Oversee production timelines to guarantee timely order completion.
  • · Assess product quality to maintain consistency and compliance with standards.
  • · Partner with R&D and Sales teams for new product introductions.
  • · Ensure bakery facilities and equipment are maintained through a preventative maintenance strategy.
  • · Arrange routine inspections and maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • · Resolve issues and collaborate with the in-house maintenance technician.
  • · Lead the sanitation team to ensure a clean, organized, and safe production area.
  • · Ensure adherence to food safety regulations.
  • · Perform inspections to confirm proper sanitation practices are being followed.
  • · Supervise packaging processes to ensure precision and quality.
  • · Work with logistics to facilitate efficient product distribution.
  • · Manage, train, and develop team members, providing constructive feedback.
  • · Create a positive and safe work environment that fosters collaboration.
  • · Evaluate employee performance and address any disciplinary concerns.
  • · Seek out opportunities to enhance efficiency and minimize waste.
  • · Introduce new systems or procedures to improve operational effectiveness.


Production Manager Qualifications


  • · Minimum of 5 years in a food production or bakery environment.
  • · Minimum of 3 years in management.
  • · Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
  • · Experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • · Proven ability to manage teams with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • · Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • · Food Handler Certificate and First Aid Training required.
  • · Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • · Problem-solving mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • · Proficiency with production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
