Senior Project Delivery Manager

Main responsibilities:

  1. Manage a team of project management professionals.
  2. Manage project delivery mandates across Western Canada.
  3. Oversee team resourcing and allocation.
  4. Manage projects in different phases; in early phases of the project (Request for qualification, request for proposal), assist the proposal team to deliver a successful proposal, and organize the set-up for the engineering delivery team, including a technical, management and commercial team.
  5. Lead engineering activities in collaboration with the project management team.
  6. Actively participate in setting up a project execution plan, design management plan, and project schedule in collaboration with the project management team and the planning team.
  7. Establish the overall budget for designated projects and ensure collaboration with different stakeholders.
  8. Lead activities related to the preparation of project financial reports required by AtkinsRéalis corporate policies.
  9. Establish quality standards in collaboration with the various teams in place within the design team consortium and from partners, ensuring that they meet AtkinsRéalis standards. Establish and follow risks in design as well as requirements management and compliance to contractual terms of the contract.
  10. Ensure fluid communication between the project management team, the design team, the construction team if applicable, and the various internal and external stakeholders regarding the elements relating to engineering.
  11. Actively participate in the implementation of project management processes such as Change management.
  12. Actively participate in negotiations with the client during changes and with suppliers and/or subcontractors when awarding subcontracts.
  13. Assist Business Unit Leaders with business development initiatives.
  14. Responsible for maintaining the overall project budget and schedule.

Recommended skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  2. Professional engineering license will be considered an asset.
  3. 10-15 years of experience in project management.
  4. Demonstrated experience in managing a team.
  5. Experience in Owner Engineer mandate would be an asset.
  6. Experience in delivering engineering under different partnership relations; i.e., Joint-Venture, Prime-Sub.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and management of project management processes.
  8. Demonstrated leadership experience in the management of multidisciplinary and multi-located teams of professionals.
  9. Ability to work in concert with integrated teams of consultants and subcontractors, located across Canada.
  10. Results-oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities as well as use feedback processes to identify improvement opportunities and innovative solutions.
  11. Willingness to work in a collaborative environment and ability to set up strong and efficient work teams.
  12. Strong skills in written and verbal communication as well as in the development and delivery of presentations to Clients, Company executives, specialized and non-specialist audiences.
  13. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  14. Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills.
  15. Demonstrate initiative, autonomy, and an ability to work with limited supervision.
  16. Available for business trips within North America as per operational needs.
