Job Description:

On behalf of our healthcare client, Affinity is looking for a Project Manager to work on the Pager Retirement project which encompasses planning, designing, analyzing, building, and implementing an approved mobile application, as well as the associated operations required to support the application going forward.

Responsibilities:

  1. Accountable for the project plan, scope, budget, risk, issue, dependency, and resource management.
  2. Accountable for delivery of all in-scope project activities.
  3. Develop and facilitate project governance process to support delivery.
  4. Develop project strategy and approach for stakeholder review and decisions.
  5. Prepare materials and facilitate discussions and decisions at committee meetings, working groups, and sub-committees as required.
  6. Liaise with vendors and manage vendor resources, where required, to support project delivery.
  7. Lead and performance manage project resources.
  8. Coordinate activities with the Mobility Program engagement lead to ensure appropriate planning and communications are in place and executed.
  9. Engage and coordinate with dependent IMITS project/operational resources to ensure a critical path is identified for delivery.
  10. Ensure projects align with TA Portfolio delivery methodology and PQTO standards and governance guidelines.
  11. The Project Manager will be responsible and/or accountable for the completion of the key deliverables aligning with TA Portfolio delivery methodology and PQTO standards and governance guidelines, including:
    1. Project plan, risk & issues log, decision log, and change request documentation as required
    2. Governance terms of reference, meeting minutes, and action item documentation
    3. Regular project status reports including scope, schedule, and budget assessment
    4. Project documentation storage management
    5. Change control committee submissions and Go-Live methods of procedure
    6. Timely submission of STRA and PIA documentation for approvals
    7. Lead or contribute to the development of additional business cases and/or briefing notes as required
    8. Supporting the creation of communications and change management documentation
    9. Project Closure Documentation

Qualifications:

  • Must be a relationship and team builder.
  • Must have demonstrated experience leading and delivering enterprise-level projects.
  • Must have experience working in a Health Authority environment.
  • Demonstrated capability in handling sensitive and challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive deliverables under tight timelines in a complex and evolving organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with multiple Senior Management teams and Executives.
  • Must be able to work independently to solve problems.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, conflict management, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management software and mobile application deployment projects, in a large enterprise environment.
  • Understanding of Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Previous experience managing third-party vendor delivery dependencies under tight timelines.
  • Previous experience working with IT Security and Privacy teams, ensuring compliance with the security requirements and privacy policies.
  • Experience working with Health Authority infrastructure.
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a degree in Project Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent, related experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (or equivalent) is considered a strong asset. Past project management experience with Clinical Information Systems is a requirement, as is work experience within British Columbia's health care system.
  • Experience facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
  • Experienced in thoroughly integrating change management and process improvement principles into my own project management style.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
  • Knowledge of PM tools, such as Microsoft Project and Portfolio Server.
