Job Description:


Jarvis is searching for a full-time Informatica Data Engineer to join an international WorkDay Implementation Organization. The successful candidate will have proficiency in the Informatica Cloud data governance platform, with a solid understanding of its features, functionalities, and best practices. A strong grasp of data governance principles, metadata management, and data quality concepts is essential.


On a day to day basis, they will manage the overall solution within the Informatica Cloud environment, collaborating with key business and IT stakeholders while adhering to best practices. The consultant will take the lead in managing the overall solution design, working closely with stakeholders to integrate Informatica CDGC. Responsibilities include configuring the CDGC solution, unit testing, and handling test phase defect remediation.


The consultant will also collaborate with the Integration lead to develop integration mapping and data quality rules as part of the inbound and outbound integrations. Additionally, they will provide training and support to users of the CDGC service, helping them understand how to view and export assets, curate automatic glossary associations and data classifications, assign stakeholders for technical assets, and participate in change approvals.


Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and testing Informatica Cloud workflows and mappings. The role involves working with other team members to design and develop ETL processes using Informatica Cloud Data Integration, becoming an integral part of the client team, and demonstrating the initiative and critical thinking needed to resolve platform-related challenges.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, coding, and modifying ETL processes using Informatica Cloud, based on mappings from Source to Target applications.
  • Participate in the design of new or modified ETL mappings and workflows with the team, and prepare technical specifications.
  • Create ETL mappings, mapplets, workflows, and worklets using Informatica Cloud, along with the corresponding documentation.
  • Design and develop integrations that support standard data warehousing objects such as type-2 dimensions, aggregations, and star schema.
  • Collaborate with DBAs and Data Architects to plan and implement data partitioning strategies in the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Implement version control for the ETL repository and supporting code as needed.
  • Develop stored procedures, database triggers, and SQL queries when necessary.
  • Apply best practices and optimize SQL code for performance.
  • Load data from SAP/Workday into an Azure SQL database using Informatica Cloud.
  • Work with XMLs, XML parsers, Java, and HTTP transformations within Informatica Cloud.
  • Utilize Informatica Data Quality/Data Profiling (Analyst and Developer).


Core duties include:

  • Creating data mappings and workflows using Informatica to extract, transform, and load data into target environments such as batch files and databases.
  • Developing technical design documents and test plans for ETL unit and integration testing.
  • Collaborating with functional and integration teams on architecture and design.
  • Tuning and optimizing ETL batch jobs for performance and throughput.
  • Ensuring adherence to Informatica workflow and mapping standards to maintain consistency across development resources (e.g., avoiding hard coding, leveraging the reuse concept through mapplets).
  • Developing ETL workflows and mappings from ODS to the Datawarehouse using Informatica.
  • Providing development support and mentoring junior developers.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting ETL batch job issues in production, PreProd, QA, and UAT environments.
  • Supporting infrastructure and development teams.
  • Experience in Informatica installation, administration, and configuration is required.
  • Extensive experience with Informatica Cloud HTTP Adapter, JMS Adapter, Webservices Hub, and API adapters/connectors is essential. This individual will work closely with the client and partner agencies to ensure priorities are met.
