ORGANIZATION: The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV/AIDS Centre with innovative, low barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare through the development, ongoing monitoring and dissemination of comprehensive research and treatment programs for HIV and related diseases.

JOB: Under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources (HR) Associate processes staffing, scheduling and other human resources tasks. These include preparing bi-weekly timekeeping, payroll and human resource transactions maintaining all documentation related to timekeeping, generating reports, responding to scheduling/timekeeping inquiries, and communicating closely with the necessary teams to process employee information effectively.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Gathers timesheets and accurately enters the information into the scheduling and timekeeping system
  2. Maintains current and accurate employee records
  3. Point of contact between employees and Payroll regarding various employee banks
  4. Vacation Planning for staff
  5. Works with the rest of the HR team to process HR transactions and assist on various HR projects
  6. Maintains and organizes filing system
  7. Other duties as required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Minimum 2 years’ experience related to human resources, scheduling and timekeeping
  2. Solid understanding of various articles of Collective Agreements related to staffing and scheduling such as regular hours of work, over-time hours, statutory holiday hours, vacation hours, personal leave, special leave and other applicable articles.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws in BC
  4. Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  5. Familiarity with ESP Payroll Software is an asset
  6. Experienced working in a multiple unionized healthcare organization in BC will be an asset.
  7. A Bachelor in Human Resources/Business Administration degree or CPHR certification will be an asset

The successful candidate will have outstanding organizational and time-management skills, have a willingness to learn and be someone who takes initiative. They will also demonstrate:
