About the Role: Our client is seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to join their team at a leading manufacturing plant. This pivotal role encompasses accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and providing valuable analysis and counsel to the General Manager and cross-functional management team. As a true business partner and leader within the plant, you will drive financial performance and guide operational strategies, focusing on EBITDA improvement.


Projects You'll Work On:

  • Perform variance analysis and proactive cash flow management.
  • Oversee capital expenditures and coordinate with other plants across North America.
  • Develop and implement financial processes, policies, and procedures to support continuous improvement.
  • Drive financial reporting systems and benchmarks to support corporate strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and senior site leadership on commercial management and enhancement.


What Experience You Should Bring:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of costing methods, labor reporting, MRP, inventory control, and valuation.
  • Proficiency in word processing and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong business acumen and audit mindset.
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with cross-functional managers.
  • Leadership qualities with a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Familiarity with grants and government funding.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage costing related to production, labor, materials, subcontract, and overhead expenses.
  • Prepare monthly reports analyzing production benchmarks, variances, and results against plans.
  • Monitor weekly performance metrics (sales, scrap, labor, EBITDA, cash flow).
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial and manufacturing plans.
  • Calculate and prepare FX hedging and transactions.
  • Oversee AR/AP employees and cash reporting.
  • Manage capital expenditures, ensuring alignment with continuous improvement and lean concepts.
  • Lead planning and budgeting processes for labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Implement new systems in production and manufacturing environments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate inventory reconciliations and valuations.
  • Maintain financial policies and systems to support strategic initiatives.
  • Supervise non-financial administrative functions, including IT and purchasing.
  • Manage external, internal, and tax audits.
  • Adhere to 5S Standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure conformity to IATF Standards.
