The Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Ottawa Downtown is conveniently situated in downtown Ottawa, steps from Parliament Hill with transportation access at the hotel's front door. The hotel features 175 extended-stay guest rooms and 171 units providing short-stay accommodations, along with 4,500 square feet of conference space, a bar, restaurant, pool, and fitness facility.

We are currently seeking a Hotel Night Auditor to join our team.

Duties of the Night Auditor would include:

  • Provide exceptional services to our guests.
  • Ensure revenue verification from all sources is accurately balanced, following up on any discrepancies.
  • Perform end of day procedures.
  • Perform check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Produce daily reports for departments and department heads.
  • Complete a thorough audit of restaurant work, balance tallies, post manual cheques, monitor cash, and charge cheque, garage and two for breakfast audits and report results.
  • Account for all necessary backup reports daily.
  • Monitor house accounts, adjust weekly, and balance forward monthly.
  • Sort shift work balancing adjustments, charges, and paid outs, making all necessary adjustments.
  • Compile and run statistical reports for all departments and transfer information to the Accounting department.
  • Help manage all functions of the Front Office night team and overall operations of the hotel during the night.
  • Perform Front Desk duties such as checking guests in and out of the hotel. Resolve any guest requests and problems and satisfy their needs within acceptable guidelines.
  • Ensure safety for all of our guests and associates overnight.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the products, including hotel rooms, types of rooms, amenities, and services of the hotel.
  • Responsible for facilitating the proper emergency evacuation procedure with all departments of the property.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the Front Office Manager.

Educational Experience:

  • Previous hotel experience as a Guest Services Specialist or Night Auditor is a definite asset.
  • Certification or diploma in Hotel Management preferred.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shift work, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of computerized Front Office systems is an asset, such as ONQ or Opera.
  • Bilingual in English and French is a must.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $23.57 per hour
