SUMMARY


We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Recruitment/HR Coordinator. This role is crucial in supporting both the recruitment and human resources functions of our organization. We are looking for a proactive individual who understands the importance of actively seeking and attracting qualified candidates. The successful candidate will lead the charge and take the initiative to actively engage in candidate acquisition rather than relying solely on sourcing from a pool of inactive employees. The candidate will play a key role in attracting and retaining top talent while also contributing to the overall efficiency of HR processes.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/SERVICES

Recruitment Responsibilities:

Talent Sourcing and Acquisition:

  • Utilize various channels to source and attract qualified candidates.
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews to assess candidate qualifications.
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment events, job fairs, and other networking activities.

Interview Coordination:

  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Communicate effectively with candidates to ensure a positive recruitment experience.
  • Collect and provide timely feedback to candidates and hiring teams.

Onboarding:

  • Assist in the development and execution of onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Coordinate orientation sessions and ensure a smooth transition for new employees.

Job Posting and Advertising:

  • Draft compelling job descriptions and post openings on relevant platforms (i.e., Indeed, LinkedIn, University Boards, etc.).
  • Monitor the effectiveness of different recruitment channels and make recommendations for improvement.


HR Coordinator Responsibilities:

Employee Records Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Facilitate documentation for new hires, terminations, and other employment changes.

HR Policy Implementation:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that policies are up to date in accordance with current legislation and make necessary internal policy changes.
  • Ensure employees are aware of and comply with company policies.

Performance Management:

  • Contribute to the performance appraisal process, including scheduling reviews and tracking performance documentation.
  • Collaborate with managers to ensure timely and constructive feedback is provided to employees.

Employee Recognition:

  • Coordinate and participate in the planning of employee recognition programs.
  • Organize and celebrate employee anniversaries, birthdays, and other milestones.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and supportive workplace culture.
  • Other duties as required.


LEADERSHIP

Reports directly to the Director of Human Resources, who will provide training, mentoring and leadership in this role.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS


  • College Certificate or University Degree in Human Resources
  • CHRP preferred, or in the process of obtaining certification for CHRP
  • Proven experience in recruitment and HR coordination roles
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices and employment law
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional, team-oriented, organized, adaptable, and dependable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
  • Aligned with CEM Core Values

  • More than 2 years of relevant experience


LOCATION

  • St Catharines Office at 25 Corporate Park Drive – minimum 2 days per week in office
  • Possibility of visiting the Oakville office once per month
