The Payroll Manager will join the Finance team to support payroll processing. We are looking for an adaptable candidate who is eager to work in a fast-paced, innovative, high-growth environment. This team member will be an integral point person and provide support for all employees.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, verify, and process all US Payroll through ADP.
- Using ADP, prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, pension, Records of Employment, EHT payments, etc.
- Process new hires and terminations and ensure they are accurately and timely paid.
- Assist with annual merit increases and retroactive calculations.
- Process annual bonuses including share-based components.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, including communicating with impacted employees.
- Support payroll tax filings and remittances.
- Support process improvement projects in payroll and related areas, including documentation of processes and integration with other systems.
- Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws, and applies changes as appropriate.
- Prepare schedules and back up to support annual and interim audits.
- Other duties and projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or equivalent designation
- Experience of Human resources considered an asset
- Minimum 2 - 4 years of experience processing payroll
- Experience with processing North American and International payroll
- Experience with ADP
- Experience working with Workday considered an asset
- Experience working with NetSuite considered an asset
- Excellent attention to detail
- Works collaboratively by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients, users, and stakeholders
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities to meet tight deadlines.
- Effectively communicates (verbal, written and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
