What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operational Risk Management Programs, the Director, Operational Risk Initiatives and Change Management is responsible for the successful implementation of an enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance (eGRC) platform to enable Global Operational Risk Management (GORM)/CIBC to assess, monitor, report on operational risk exposures as well as deliver a consistent change management, training & communication approach and oversee GORM’s data governance. You will establish the enterprise vision of a bank-wide eGRC platform in CIBC, maintain/update the GRC roadmap to align with changes in business objectives/strategies, ensure appropriate program management discipline is applied and deliver projects on time, on budget and meet all the business objectives.


You will also deliver a consistent change management approach/methodology for changes initiated by GORM to ensure consistent end user/stakeholder experience – including communication, engagement, training, and post-implementation support.


As the Director Operational Risk Initiatives and Change Management, you will maintain and evolve the eGRC operating model and collaborate with various eGRC stakeholders to ensure seamless integration among the modules and all downstream impacts are well assessed for the changes introduced by the stakeholders. You will chair the monthly eGRC Work Group meeting and quarterly Executive Governance Committee with Third Party as well as oversee third-party governance to ensure all contractual rights and obligations are met on an ongoing basis and manage third-party relationships while working with procurement on contract negotiations.


You will also be responsible for managing annual system releases for new use cases and ongoing maintenance changes, along with production support and liaison with various stakeholders, including Business Application Management team, Technology, external vendors, project managers, business use case owners, etc. You will oversee GORM’s training and communication strategy/approach and course development (e.g. CMTT, BMTT) to support ongoing initiatives and operational risk program changes. Continuously explore and evolve the strategy, leveraging industry best practices. You will also establish GORM’s data governance operating model, acting as the Data Steward for the eGRC platform and the representation for GORM at various data governance forums. Acting as the single point of contact for GORM and coordinate with various GORM stakeholders who manage/own other related systems/applications.
