Position: Quality Control Inspector

Location: Calgary, AB

Position Type: Fulltime, ON

Move to Manitoba, whenever it is required for work purpose.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

Experience working on construction projects, with subcontractors, fabricators/manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors


Key Responsibilities

• Review and understand the scope of project work, client specifications, and code of construction requirements. Interpret and implement quality assurance procedural requirements

• Develop project specific Quality Plans in collaboration with Project Managers for the contract work execution

• Develop project-specific Inspection and Test Plans to facilitate inspection activities; receiving, in-process and final inspection, coordinate third-party inspections, surveillance and quality audit on job site

• Identify and record all non-conformances on job sites, determine and suggest disposition in consultation with Site Superintendent, PM and CQM, and client representative

• Ensure all pertinent project work documents are completed and validated by client’s representative, and Provincial Authorized Inspector for specific code of construction work only

• Develop and document Internal Quality Audit Plan.

• Perform internal audits. Coordinate and support external audit process on-sites.

• Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions

• Analyze data, to identify areas for improvements in the quality system

• Monitor risk management activities


Skills and Abilities

• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD

• Focus on continuous improvement, the ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions to gaps in current processes

• Possess strong software modelling capabilities in CADWorx Process piping Layout and Acorn drawings

• Skilled in the application requirements of ASME Codes (Section IX, V, B31.1, B-31.3), CWB, AWS Structural Codes, CSA B51 and CSA Z662

• A thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Standard, Provincial safety Codes Acts and Regulations, Canadian national and international standards

• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical construction drawings


Required Experience and Education

• Education: Mechanical Engineering - Degree or Diploma

• CWB Level 1 or 2 Welding Inspector Designation-Preferred

• Experience as a Quality Control/Quality Assurance professional, evidenced by a minimum of 3 years of work experience


Additional Requirements

• Overtime and weekend work may be required

• Travel may be required
