We have an open position for a hard-working, independent individual to join our production team as an Assembly Technician / Instrumentation Specialist, which is an integral role in our growing business. The successful candidate will use their knowledge and experience to help build state of the art emissions monitoring systems, as well as support new project completion, and must be able to multitask and problem solve proficiently while fostering relationships and ensuring client needs and requirements are met on time and in a professional manner.


Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of this position will include:


1) CEMS Design and Assembly

  • Assist with new CEMS construction activities such as fabrication, wiring, tubing, etc.
  • Provide support in the design of new CEMS equipment and monitoring solutions.
  • Prepare tools, parts, and equipment necessary for the successful completion of assigned jobs.
  • Read and follow wiring diagrams, P&ID’s, bill of materials and quality control specifications in the assembly of analyzer packages.
  • Install and test low voltage electrical equipment within analyzer packages including transmitters, solenoids, controllers and analyzers. Perform analyzer calibrations and adjustments.
  • Involvement in troubleshooting and repair of system operations.
  • Involvement in Quality Control (QC) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities.


2) Assist with new CEMS installations and commissioning

  • Complete quality control and production documentation as required.
  • Support new CEMS installations and commissioning as required.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the products being designed.


3) Other Duties (as required)

  • Involvement in troubleshooting and repair of system operations.
  • Clean/maintain the instrument shop and service bay.
  • Assist in inventory management for parts and supplies specific to major projects.


4) Client and Team Support

  • Help prepare parts shipments for clients.
  • Provide internal/external training as required.
  • Complete job sheets, time sheets, and expense reports as required.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned from time to time by the Employer.


5) Participation in Quality Management Program.


6) Participation in Safety Program and Initiatives.


Qualifications

For this position, we would ideally like to see

  • Technical diploma, BSc, or Instrumentation background.
  • Experience with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems considered an asset.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an instrumentation role.


At a minimum we require:

  • Education or experience in instrumentation, preferably environmental monitoring
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Physically fit (able to lift up to 50 lbs)
  • Unafraid of heights (able to climb a ladder up to 150 feet)
  • Willingness to travel (occasionally)
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of how to use a personal computer, including MS Office Suite.
