The Manager, Learning and Development Programs leads the end-to-end project management of internal learning programs with direct oversight of the design for onboarding, individual contributor, people leader, and other custom adhoc learning paths. Overseeing the L&D Learning Specialist, you'll ensure the cohesive delivery of all L&D programs in alignment with overall company strategy.

The Manager, Learning and Development is a key contributor to the strategic direction of the Employee Experience P&C function through partnership with COEs to deliver HR solutions.

The impact you'll have:

Learning & Development Strategy

  1. Lead the annual L&D strategy to address specific business needs through COE OKRs.
  2. Manage the L&D annual budget.
  3. Facilitate opportunities to promote and drive employees to leverage existing learning infrastructure to enable a culture of continuous learning.
  4. Maintain an awareness of emerging trends and best practices in Learning and Development by creatively assessing and sharing opportunities to build new programs or drive continuous improvement.

Program Management

  1. Lead the full cycle of training and learning projects, from conception and planning to implementation and evaluation, ensuring timely delivery and effective outcomes.
  2. Responsible for the ongoing operationalization of Functional Skills by designing and evolving learning curriculum and overseeing the creation of required assets.
  3. Design and lead the annual Leader Summit as part of the Axonify Level Up Program.
  4. Manage the Peer to Peer Coaching Program and Buddy Program.
  5. Own the strategy of the DiSC program and fulfill Lead Facilitation responsibilities.
  6. Own the execution and ongoing evolution of all L&D Programs including onboarding, Axonify Level Up (Leadership program), Individual Contributor program.
  7. Maintain ongoing program alignment with business needs, and overall Mission, Vision, and Values.
  8. Own all Program Learning Paths.

Instructional Design and Delivery

  1. Regular lead facilitation duties in person from the Toronto and Waterloo Offices and virtual.
  2. Own the overall design, manage content and oversee the delivery of Programs through Axonify’s internal training platform with reinforcement training, articles and workshops.
  3. Oversee the strategic direction for instructional design and delivery of internal L&D programs to maximize the platform’s key capabilities and drive employee growth and skill enhancement.
  4. Support and contribute to training content research, design and development.
  5. Design Facilitation Guides and own the SOPs for L&D asset creation.
  6. Manage all L&D intake requests and develop custom learning programs.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  1. Champion cross functional internal L&D Stakeholder relationships.
  2. Partner with the People & Culture Business Partners to understand the learning needs of the organization, teams, and individuals and recommend learning solutions, and co-create the design & development.
  3. Work closely with Department specific stakeholders to intake training and development requests and develop custom learning programs.
  4. Advise cross functionally on L&D practices and insights.

Evaluation and Improvement

  1. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of L&D initiatives through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and continuously refine programs based on insights.
  2. Design and maintain L&D metrics dashboard.
  3. Conduct learning needs analysis when required that identify functional and organization wide Learning & Development needs and build a plan to address.
  4. Provide quarterly insight reports with Executive Summary.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Support the annual company kickoff business event.
  2. Provide internal Learning and Development mentorship.
  3. Actively participate in the execution of wider Employee Experience Programs.
  4. Additional P&C support as needed.

What you'll bring:

  1. 8+ years experience in a learning & development role.
  2. 3+ years experience in people management and leading a team.
  3. Knowledge of adult learning methods.
  4. Team player with strong interpersonal skills, skilled at project and change management with cross-functional collaboration.
  5. Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end project lifecycle of an organization wide learning program.
  6. Demonstrated ability to lead and coach others.
  7. Proficiency with Vyond and Articulate Rise is an asset.
  8. Experience designing, developing, implementing, and facilitating learning sessions using a variety of in person, virtual and hybrid platforms to engage the learning audience at all levels of the organization.
  9. Experience leveraging a variety of resources, knowledge and information to assess learning needs and develop sessions through a high level of judgment, integrity and sense of urgency.
  10. Exceptional verbal articulation to facilitate learning sessions.
  11. A variety of business experiences that offers knowledge, coaching and guidance on facilitated learning topics.
  12. A passion and desire for maintaining a business culture of learning.
