Agronomist - Innisfail - Central Alberta Co-op

Our Agro site in Innisfail, Alberta is looking for a temporary full-time Agronomist to join our team.
Term: Temporary contract for approximately 16 months.
Full-time: 40 hours/week.
Availability requirements: Weekdays

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide information on seed, weed, disease and insect control so customers can make an informed decision.
  2. Responsible to provide superior service and technical advice to Co-op customers and promote the sales of all Agro product lines, especially crop inputs (including petroleum, bins and equipment).
  3. Develop and administer an aggressive farm contact program with present and prospective customers, promoting the services and product lines available at the Co-op.
  4. Communicate professionally with suppliers and act as facilitator for the resolution of product complaints.
  5. Manage all suppliers programming to the benefit of growers and CAC.
  6. Assure customer satisfaction of products by providing product, agronomy and customer service support.
  7. Pricing, price checks, sales, and inventory management of crop protection products, working with Retail Manager and FCL Crop Supplies Sales Coordinator.
  8. Be goal oriented seeking both personal and professional development by attending FCL training seminars offered by Crop Supplies, Petroleum and P&C.
  9. Also attend supplier and research information days/tours where possible.
Qualifications:
  1. Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or in a related field required.
  2. Strong problem-solving skills.
  3. Strong self-motivation.
  4. Able to work and perform in a team environment.
  5. Some heavy lifting is required (up to 50 lbs.).
  6. Knowledge of the trading area and local farmers would be an asset.
  7. CCA designation would be an asset.
  8. PAg/AIT would be an asset.
