Are you enthusiastic about delivering outstanding customer service? Do you excel in a fast-paced environment? Our Deer Park Food Store is offering an excellent opportunity for you We’re currently looking for a full-time Assistant Food Store Manager to join our dynamic team.

Position: Assistant Food Store Manager
Full-time: 40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after 3 months. If you are relocating from another province, please ensure you have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.
Availability: Weekdays and weekends - mornings, afternoons, and evenings

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Food Manager, the Assistant Food Manager aids in the day-to-day operations of the store, staffing, budgeting, SPEH, and customer sales and inquiries. The Assistant Food Manager also aids with inventory control, ensuring Food Department Managers adhere to established standards, including safe food handling and sanitation, merchandising, signage, health and safety, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with recruitment, scheduling, and performance reviews in conjunction with and in the absence of the Food Manager
  2. Oversee Customer Service issues or concerns
  3. Ensure operations and environmental standards are followed
  4. Order and receive products to properly warehouse and display
  5. Supervise staff
  6. Store opening and closing procedures
  7. Ensure a clean and safe work environment
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications:
  1. Excellent communication and organization skills
  2. Strong leadership abilities
  3. Coaching and training skills
  4. Exceptional attention to detail and quality
  5. Prior experience in the food industry
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  7. Team player with the ability to work independently
  8. Post-secondary education in Business or related field and familiarity with the retail industry is an asset
  9. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required
  10. Applicants must be over 14 years old. (Employment Standards mandates a permit to employ a person aged 14 or under, thus disclosure is required)
