Human Resources Coordinator

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator, will be responsible for overseeing and assisting the Human Resources Manager with over 800 nonunion and unionized employees across Ontario, British Colombia and Alberta.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Provide administrative support to our Senior Leadership, Operations Managers, and employees.
- Submit all employee changes, including hires, job changes, terminations, promotions, and contract amendments into our HRIS (Workday) in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and administer employee onboarding and orientation programs through our HRIS (Workday).
- Act as a liaison between employees and management to address any HR/union related inquiries and concerns.
- Assist in the administration of union contracts, including tracking compliance with the terms and conditions of the CBA and addressing employee concerns within the framework of the union contracts.
- Participate in the resolution of union grievances.
- Knowledge of Employment Standards Act (ESA) in Ontario, British Colombia and Alberta
- Prepare and maintain personnel files, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare employee letters, such as offer, promotion and employment verification as requested.
- Provide timely responses to written and verbal general inquiries regarding HR, benefits administration, payroll inquiries and policies.
- Working with hiring managers to plan and develop a recruitment strategy for vacant positions as needed. e.g. posting of position, resume review, scheduling of interview, and pre-screening.
- Coordinates and participate in local job fairs and college/university career fairs.
- Builds relationships with stakeholders and team members.
- Reports Ad hoc and tasks as required.
Position Requirements :
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR Coordination specifically in the construction industry preferred.
- Experience with HRIS Systems: Workday, Dayforce, ADP preferred.
- Previous experience working with unions and collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws, regulations and best practices related to non-union and unionized work environments.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
- CHRP designation, or actively working towards the designation is an asset.
- Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
- Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
- Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
