Be our next Materials Field Technician What a day at EXP has in store for you:
  1. The successful candidate will spend their time both in the field on construction jobsites and in the materials laboratory completing construction materials tests.
  2. Executing on-site concrete spot tests which includes:
    1. casting cylinders,
    2. slump test,
    3. air content tests,
    4. and reporting.
  3. Executing soil sampling and asphalt hot-mix sampling on-site.
  4. Some in-lab work, such as testing cylinders, wash-sieve analysis, Proctor test, etc.
  5. The technicians will interact with the on-site clients (contractors) to provide excellent service and a quick response to their testing needs.
What your experience looks like:
  1. Must be comfortable in the field on construction project sites.
  2. Must have strong people skills, and ability to work with a wide variety of staff and clients.
  3. Must be able to communicate (verbally/writing) in English.
  4. Ideally, concrete/soils/asphalt testing experience would be advantageous.
  5. Strong general math skills.
  6. AScT designation is an asset.
  7. Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license.
  8. Must have own vehicle (mileage allowance will be provided).
