Calgary Alberta DJ, CA Northweather Corporation Full time

What is Northweather? Northweather is an advocacy marketing agency that works with progressive organizations, nonprofits, and charities to campaign, market, tell their stories, advocate, and motivate actions. Our ethos is simple: We work with organizations and causes that share our values and passion, and we do our best work for them. Period.

We're looking for a new Director of Client Services: Northweather is looking for a new, driven team member to join us on this journey (We will spare you the clichésthough, yes, we are looking for our totally unique unicorn myth of a human being). This passionate and engaged self-starter will be responsible for planning, developing, and managing clients’ digital strategy, marketing, and web projects while serving as their primary point of contact and a liaison between our internal teams.

That’s a mouthful, but simply put: You are the person on our team who keeps the trains running on time, is the face of our engagements with clients building trusted relationships, and helps with strategy, writing, and presenting.

Practically, this means: You really care for our clients, you can communicate, you can present, you can write, you can build relationships, and you can manage. It also wouldn’t hurt if you could charm and convince.

And here’s even more information You would:

  • Manage day-to-day advertising, design, video, marketing, and advocacy projects.
  • Build trusted and valuable relationships with clients and internal team members.
  • Effectively communicate and market what we do at Northweather.
  • Assess and identify clients’ digital, communications, and marketing needs.
  • Keep in frequent contact with clients to explain strategy, address questions, and keep them in the loop regarding project developments.
  • Lead meetings, presentations, project execution, and oversee budgets and timelines
  • Develop strategies, plans, budgets, proposals, and presentations.
  • Formalize client requests by writing project briefs and statements of work.
  • Write first drafts of many things: proposals, presentation decks, strategies, advertising copy, broadcast email and social media copy, video and audio scripts, and other marketing and advocacy copy.
  • Collaborate with the team to gather feedback and revisions on written copy and guide it to its completion.
  • Work with strategy, creative, and dev teams, and outside suppliers, to establish project estimates, timelines, and milestones
  • Coordinate and lead digital ad placement and traditional media buying projects.
  • Coordinate print and promotional materials design and production.
  • Monitor project milestones and coordinate invoicing and other administrative requirements.
  • Complete other administrative and coordination duties as needed.

While we really value passion and entrepreneurialism at Northweather, here is what we are looking for as it relates to creds:

  • A broad interest and passion in public policy advocacy, marketing, and storytelling will form the ideal foundation for a successful applicant’s wider skills.
  • Someone who really cares about marketing, communications, and advocacy --- and is keen on helping clients optimize and achieve their marketing, communications, or advocacy objectives.
  • Qualifications in marketing, communications, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of communications experience, including 1 - 2 years serving external clients.
  • Digital Marketing & Web Design Project experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing tools and technology.
  • Experience coordinating with strategy, creative, and technology teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a talent for motivating team members and collaborating with clients.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, writing, and project management skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to bring teams together.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Familiarity or experience in one or more aspects of integrated marketing are valuable, such as planning, creative, media, research, or corporate communications.
  • Experience with one or more of the following in a marketing role will be an important asset for the successful applicant:
  • Copywriting for marketing
  • Digital ad management and placement
  • Scripting
  • Coordination
  • Media Buying

Northweather offers a flexible work environment, a competitive compensation package, and a comprehensive benefits plan - including comprehensive health and dental benefits and a supplemental Health Spending Account.

A key goal for our team with this type of position is to provide extensive and diverse experience and opportunities for learning and enhancing skills. Where applicable to the role, this could include access to educational opportunities.

Location of Work:

The Northweather team works in a hybrid model of both remotely from home and in person (ability to work privately and efficiently (with minimal distraction) at home is required). We have a preference for candidates who are located in Calgary. Under certain circumstances, we will also consider candidates who have a background of successfully working fully remotely from other communities in Alberta, or in Canada. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider candidates who are located outside of Canada.
