Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee new build and tenant improvement projects for our clients general contracting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.


Package: $120-140k base, competitive benefits and strong project backlog.


This role is based in Downtown Vancouver.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Development:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting communication and teamwork.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.
  • Monitor project expenses and implement corrective actions as needed.

Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking progress and adjusting timelines as necessary.
  • Ensure that all project milestones are met and that resources are effectively utilized.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate with the quality assurance team.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Address issues promptly to minimize impact on project delivery.

Client Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns or questions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry, specifically with new build and tenant improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, contract management, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and motivation.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
