Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Project Team. Ensure the alignment of project agreement, design and construction deliverables.
  • Review the design drawings and specifications, identify the issues, propose solution, prepare constructible working sketches, drawings and related documents.
  • Coordinate and review shop drawings and materials submittal of sub-contractor and vendor in compliance with project design. Ensure the compliance with project agreement, design intent, specifications, applicable Code and construction best practices.
  • Support procurement activities, prepare marked up, capture scopes and quantities.
  • Attend coordination meetings, contribute to team discussions and provide thoughtful input.
  • Coordinate the shop drawing submissions, track and follow up the review process and obtain close out.
  • Maintain cordial relations and communications with project team.
  • Other responsibilities, duties may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Holistic experience in design and construction of architectural, interior finishes and multidisciplinary interface.
  • Excellent experience in multidisciplinary setting, familiar working with structure, mechanical, electrical, landscape and civil work interface.
  • Strong building science & technical knowledge, construction process and best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills.
  • Open minded, great attitude and desire to learn.
  • Strong sense of work ethic, integrity and responsibility.
  • Driven and motivated to complete work efficiently, under tight project deadlines.
  • Strong time management, able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Attention to detail, capable to identify the challenge and provide solution.
  • Team player, self starter, with ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient working skill in Revit, AutoCad, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Diligent, hand-on; able to work both in office and construction site.


Experience/Qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture or Building Technology or Technology in Architectural Science from a accredited post-secondary institution, or equivalent skill level.
  • Minimum 5+ years design and construction experience in complex commercial, or train subway station projects. Familiar with multidisciplinary coordination and interface.
  • Excellent technical understanding of building technology, details, assemblies and construction methods. Strong working experience in design and construction of masonry, drywall, curtain wall, cladding, frameless glass, door & hardware, elevator, escalator, fit-out, signage, artwork and site work interface.
  • Strong knowledge of Part 3 of the BC Building Code, Vancouver Building Bylaw.
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills.
