Full job descriptionOverview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen/food truck and deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. If you have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a background in restaurant management, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards
- Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation guidelines
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
- Monitor food safety practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction
- Assist in training new kitchen staff members
- Contribute to menu development and innovation
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or food truck environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and kitchen management
- Understanding of food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
