Job Description:

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Controller to join our team. As the Finance Controller, you will be responsible for reporting promptly and accurately the financial results of the company. Your primary focus will be to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while providing strategic guidance to optimize financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, as well as with IR FICAP rules.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage divisional budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making processes.
  3. Cost Management: Monitor and analyze manufacturing and service costs, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  4. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and control processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  5. Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  6. ERP System Management: Utilize Global Shop Solutions ERP system for financial transactions, reporting, and analysis. Previous experience with a comparative ERP system is required.
  7. Strategic Planning: Partner with senior management to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth and profitability for the division.
  8. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights to support decision-making.
  9. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of financial staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  10. Ad hoc decision support - financial analysis.
  11. Analyze variances (and determine root cause) in financial statements. Implement corrective actions with help from other department managers and support from Site Manager.
  12. Initiate procedures to collect aging receivable, and follow-up.
  13. Prepare business cases for new investments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with an ERP system on a similar scale to Global Shop Solutions is highly desirable.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the industrial equipment sector.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP principles (strong asset) and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with being operational taking care of day-to-day accounting activities when the accountant is on vacation.
  • Experience with M&A (asset).
