Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A - Canadian Tire Petroleum

What you'll do

As a key member of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, you will provide proactive, actionable, analytical support, and insights to senior management that will enable the Petroleum team to deliver on its targets and Plans. You will also collaborate and interact with stakeholders across the organization to drive recommendations to improve the network performance.

  • Support the business by developing meaningful, actionable insights and analytics (actual performance results, promotional post mortems, etc)
  • Manage and take ownership of the end to end forecasting and budgeting process by collaborating with the Petroleum business and other functional groups across the organization
  • Inform and provide recommendations to the business through the development of business cases; gathering requirements, building/justifying assumptions, and analyzing various sensitivities
  • Mentor and coach the Finance Associate Analyst, from a dotted line management perspective
  • Be a leader of change - challenging current approaches to the team's analysis and fostering new ways of approaching business questions
  • Bring efficiencies to the reporting, forecasting and planning processes

  • University degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years business experience in an analytical field and solid understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements)
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience writing in SQL and VBA, and working with Python and Knime, and other data tools is considered an asset
  • Completion of an accounting designation (CPA - CA, CMA, CGA), CFA, or MBA is preferred
