Reporting to the Manager of Accounting Operations, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role within a team focused on efficient and accurate accounting for long-term assets and related financial statement lines. As part of the broader accounting operations team, the incumbent will prepare and record journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis. This will include ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounting for intangibles and other IT-related assets for the retail segment as well as fixed assets and leases for CT Bank.
  2. Preparation and review of journal entries, GL account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  3. Provide evidence/support as requested by auditors, tax, internal control, and other teams.
  4. Supervision and oversight of Financial Analysts.

What You Bring:

  1. University or college degree in accounting or a similar program.
  2. CPA designation or in progress.
  3. 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, either in industry or with a firm.
  4. Experience accounting for intangible assets, fixed assets, or leases (nice to have, but not necessary).
  5. Interest in finding opportunities for automation, including use of macros, Power Query, and PeopleSoft queries.
  6. Experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  7. Experience with Oracle products such as PeopleSoft Financials or Hyperion Financial Management (nice to have, but not necessary).
  8. Willingness to work additional compensated hours during month-end periods.
  9. Ability to work at the Yonge & Eglinton head office 2 days per week (subject to change).
