Clarke and Associates has attracted private land development clients and builders through providing Civil (Municipal) Engineering, Professional Planning, and Survey services. A. J. Clarke is a division of TULLOCH, a robust multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm recognized Canada-wide for its strengths in diverse service offerings and commitment to excellence.
Based in Hamilton, the Survey Technician will report to the Survey Crew Lead and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on conventional surveying services. You will be part of a team that offers services and expertise to private and government sector clients throughout the Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara regions and beyond.
What You’ll Do:
- Be the assisting member of a 2-person crew that works in the field obtaining survey information
- Assist in the collection of field data using various survey instruments, levels, and GPS field equipment
- Demonstrate the essential skills related to the use of all field equipment used to perform job responsibilities
- Ensure all field equipment is accounted for and maintained in good working order
- Organize field equipment and supplies

Who You Are:
- You have at least two (2) years experience working in the survey field
- You are proficient in the use of various survey instruments, calculators, levels, and GPS field equipment or have the aptitude to learn
- You are willing to travel for site inspections and fieldwork
- You can pivot and alter approach to accomplish desired results
- You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance
- You are trusted and provided freedom to work independently but also contribute to the overall team success
What You Should Bring:
The ideal candidate will have completed at least a two (2) year college program in Civil Engineering Technician or Technology or have equivalent experience. Additionally, you should have:
- High motivation with results-oriented focus
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- A valid, Class G driver’s licence
