Reporting to the Senior Manager, Watershed Resilience, the Resilience Infrastructure Engineering Team Lead is an engineering specialist responsible for delivering high priority resilience infrastructure projects, including:
- A provincial strategic review of water storage opportunities
- The Ardley Reservoir Scoping and Feasibility Study
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support a range of initiatives as the department's engineering authority on drought and flood management infrastructure and as a key contact and resource for information about water storage infrastructure.
As an engineering expert in geotechnical, water resources, civil, or a related field, you will fill critical roles, including:
- Project manager
- Leader and mentor to junior engineers, scientists, and technologists
Your expert technical input will also support a variety of watershed infrastructure grants, including the new five-year, $125-million Drought and Flood Protection Program.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering strategic assessments of water storage opportunities that align with provincial priorities and overall provincial resilience.
- Delivering feasibility assessments of potential major new water management infrastructure.
- Providing engineering or technical advice to enhance provincial resilience to flood and drought.
- Providing technical support to assist communities developing comprehensive plans to ensure long-term drought and flood mitigation is achieved within manageable risk levels.
- Leading and developing team members to ensure effective delivery of projects and programs.
The successful candidate will be expected to routinely support the branch, including contributing to briefings and undertaking contract and grant management activities. You will be expected to operate independently to deliver high-quality results while ensuring the team and supervisor are regularly updated.
