Position Summary: Knelsen Sand & Gravel Ltd. is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. As CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s financial future. You will oversee all financial operations, including financial planning, risk management, and ensuring long-term stability. With a focus on banking relationships and strategic growth, this role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful impact at a pivotal time in our company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Partner with the President and CEO to develop long-term financial strategies, optimize capital structures, and lead banking relationships and fundraising efforts.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while providing insights on improving operational efficiencies and identifying revenue opportunities.
- Operational Financial Management: Manage all accounting functions, internal controls, and financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Risk and Compliance Management: Analyze financial risks, manage company liabilities, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team and IT teams, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Corporate Governance & Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the President and CEO on long-term strategies, including corporate growth and investment decisions.
Key Performance Objectives:
- Lead financial planning and cash flow management.
- Provide strategic financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and implement best practices for fiscal management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with significant banking experience.
- Proven experience in strategic financial leadership, particularly in growth-oriented environments.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial systems such as Microsoft Business Central.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and drive results.
