Role Purpose

Join our Canadian marketing team to lead and grow affiliate partnerships while managing a high-performing team that delivers measurable results. As the Head of Affiliates, you will lead by example, managing key affiliate accounts and overseeing a team responsible for expanding and optimizing partnerships. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to influence company performance directly by developing relationships, negotiating agreements, and executing strategic, data-driven initiatives.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll also ensure your team remains at the forefront of industry innovation, driving success and growth within the affiliate marketing channel.


Key Responsibilities


Team Leadership and People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of affiliate marketing specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations for team members, providing regular feedback and coaching to support professional growth.
  • Monitor team performance and provide strategic direction to ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Recruit and onboard new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development.

Strategic Planning & Partnership Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive affiliate marketing strategy to drive growth and align with overall business objectives.
  • Develop annual budget plans and re-forecast to shift/request budget to maximize results when requested.
  • Plan, coordinate, and analyze Affiliate performance including impact on KPIs. E.g. FTDs, CPDs, pNGR, Rev-Share, Conversions Rates etc.
  • Negotiate and manage Tier 1 affiliate agreements, partnerships, and app network collaborations, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the affiliate program, leveraging market trends and competitor insights.
  • Build long-term relationships with key affiliates, ensuring satisfaction and sustained performance.

Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Oversee the monitoring and analysis of affiliate program performance, ensuring data-driven decisions to optimize ROI, conversions, and engagement.
  • Use advanced analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to provide actionable insights and recommendations for program improvements.
  • Establish robust tracking systems for affiliate activities, including mobile app campaigns, fraud detection, and compliance monitoring.

Compliance & Regulatory Standards

  • Ensure affiliate activities comply with industry regulations, company guidelines, and advertising standards.
  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to implement and maintain adherence to policies in all target markets.
  • Maintain a streamlined Know Your Customer (KYC) process for onboarding new affiliates across regions.

Campaign Management & Execution

  • Design and execute high-impact affiliate campaigns, promotions, and incentive programs to drive revenue growth and partner engagement.
  • Provide affiliates with high-quality marketing materials, creative assets, and resources to maximize performance.
  • Regularly review and refine campaigns based on performance data and affiliate feedback.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Work closely with internal teams to align affiliate initiatives with broader marketing strategies, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying them to enhance affiliate program efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in affiliate platform improvements, automation, and technical projects.

Reporting & Communication

  • Deliver detailed reports on affiliate performance, team achievements, and campaign outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior management regarding the affiliate program’s performance and opportunities for growth.


Qualifications and Requirements


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in online marketing, with a strong background in affiliate marketing, advertising account management, SEO, or media buying.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing and leading teams in a marketing or affiliate-focused role.
  • Proven success in managing affiliate programs, driving growth, and optimizing revenue within online gaming, sports betting, or a related industry.


Specialist Skills and Attributes


Essential:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including mentoring, performance evaluations, and team development.
  • Expertise with affiliate management platforms (e.g., Mexos, Income Access) and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
  • Proven negotiation skills, with experience securing high-value affiliate agreements and strategic partnerships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of iGaming regulations, advertising standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities to handle multiple campaigns and team priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire at all levels.

Desired:

  • Extensive knowledge of casino and sports betting promotions, player motivations, and betting behaviors.
  • Experience in fraud detection tools and strategies (e.g., Interceptd/Protect360).
  • Familiarity with integrated marketing channels, including PPC, social media, and email marketing.
  • Multilingual capabilities, particularly in French, to support Canadian affiliate partners.
  • Experience managing complex budgets across multiple regions.
