Job Description / Accountabilities: The AVP Audit, Road to Strong, Change Management will be responsible for establishing the transformation and change program required to ensure TD's Audit function is set up for success and ensure execution and delivery against all program workstreams. Reporting to the VP Audit, Risk Management, Audit Road to Strong, Emerging Risks and M&A, the AVP is a leader within Internal Audit responsible for overseeing a team of change management professionals. The general accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Working closely with Audit leaders and the Road to Strong Program lead, establish the Road to Strong change management requirements to ensure TD's Audit function is set up for success and ensure execution and delivery against all program workstreams.
  • Manage and track all stages of delivery of each commitment, from initiation, execution through to completion and internal / external validation.
  • Provide timely and effective communication and reporting on the program status, analysis and findings to internal and external stakeholders, including to SET and the Board. Lead development of ongoing Audit Committee RTS reporting.
  • Have the ability to influence partners toward solutions while ensuring appropriate transparency, reporting and escalation.
  • Understand, align and manage cross-functional interdependencies (including with other Audit Strong, Enterprise RTS and Audit/Enterprise benchmarking initiatives).
  • Provide support in alleviating roadblocks throughout all stages of delivery.
  • Assist in formulating recommendations regarding delivery approach after consultation with key stakeholder groups on estimated effort, resource availability, cross-program dependencies and other implementation constraints.
  • Escalating issues and risks to effectively drive delivery.
  • Build positive, diverse and open work environment by continually improving the efficiency, sharing deep knowledge and skills, and encouraging the team to deliver results.
  • Attract, develop and retain talent.
  • Communicate a clear & compelling vision; engender followership.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred.
  • Professional Change Management Accreditation an asset.

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years related experience.
  • Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term.
  • Previous experience delivering best-in-class change programs in a large complex global organization (Financial Services experience is beneficial).
  • Proven ability in leveraging deep subject matter expertise to align teams to a central vision, while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of that vision.
  • Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams, proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse group of professionals, the ability to effectively work in teams across the bank with multiple stakeholders, and to influence and align others.
  • Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels.
  • Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remains objective to reach the right outcome - ability to stay resilient under pressure.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills; able to make things happen through the use of positive influence.
  • Expertise in working effectively in teams – requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels.
