Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from inception through to commissioning, including the tracking and reporting on progress for Hydrochloric Acid Pickling Line proposals & projects throughout the world,
  • Participate in technical sales meetings with customers and suppliers,
  • Design of piping systems, pumps and checking of drawings,
  • Checking design drawings and preparing drawings in AutoCAD for all systems including some electrical drawings as required,
  • Inspecting equipment at manufacturers’ locations,
  • Assist in installation of equipment, commissioning and start up. May require several weeks onsite at the customer’s facility.
  • Travel will be mostly in Canada, USA or Mexico, but may also include other parts of the world.

Health & Safety

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude towards safety and models safety for other employees at all times.
  • Understand that it is mandatory to use and/or wear all personal protective equipment provided by the Company.
  • Reports all accidents, incidents and near misses and supports in determining corrective actions to eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Practices safe work habits as detailed in Samuel’s safety policies, procedures, C.S.A and the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario. Must also follow site-specific safety policies when on customers’ sites.
  • Understands and completes necessary health & safety training through Samuel’s Safety Training program 24/7 and ensures renewal training is completed as per company requirements.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • P. Eng or CET designation preferred.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical/Electrical/Process Engineer with minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in piping systems and some limited electrical knowledge, foundations and structural steelwork would be beneficial.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and good skills with MS Office applications.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to solve issues reported during all aspects of the project.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve processes and increase efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills (Oral, Written, Presentation) with ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Valid driving license and passport.
  • Travelling required
